When I kiss you, I kiss US

A poem from the Ascending series

Photo by Anne Nygård on Unsplash

When I touch you, I touch us
Like pinching the string of a cosmic harp
Pulsing
An all-encompassing melody

When I touch you, I touch us

When I love you, I love us
Like caressing the water of a pond
Reaching
Every shore

When I love you, I love us

When I kiss you, I kiss us
Like a tongue-twister of Eternity
Reaching
The Roots of Humanity

When I kiss you, I kiss US
